[D] Clos Saron Kind of Blue 2016
This is an old-vine co-fermentation of Carignan, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Semillon. The result is a medium+ bodied, fragrant wine, rich in fruit, dense yet not heavy texture, bright flavors, and a solid backbone. The attack is mild and gentle, with juicy, spicy/flowery notes, leading to more grip and assertive, earthy/animal tones as it travels on to the back of the palate . This one definitely has a good aging potential (15+ years), although it’s very accessible and inviting from right now.
