[1.5L] Chateau Batailley Pauillac 2014
The name is derived from the battle (“bataille”) that took place where the château and vineyard are today during the Hundred Years’ War, around 1453. In this battle, the French re-conquered the neighboring Château Latour from the English, a crucial point for ending the 300 year long reign of the English in Aquitaine. The vineyards spread out over 57 hectares with the average vine age being 40 years old. The soil is silica and gravel, but the heart of the vineyard is on a deep gravel bed over a subsoil of clay and sandstone. There are also some parcels located in between Château Latour and Pichon Lalande. Bold and fruity, this is a black-currant-flavored wine with soft tannins. In this vintage, the crisp acidity has also kicked in to give the wine its lift and to balance the ripe flavors.
[1.5L] Laurent-Perrier Brut Millesime 2008
A finely knit Champagne, defined by well-cut acidity that frames notes of Asian pear, white cherry, slivered almond and fleur de sel. The mousse shows a lovely creamy viscosity. Hints of citrus and spice emerge on the finish. Drink now through 2028.
[187ml] Riondo Prosecco Spago Nero
Effusively fruity and light bodied, offering terrific floral notes, persistent effervescence, and a clean, delicate finish. There is perfect body and weight in this crystal clear, pure sparkling wine. It’s an ideal aperitif to enjoy any day of the year.
[375ml] Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
This Cabernet Sauvignon has great texture and structure with a medium mouthfeel. There are aromas of dark plum, cherry, cassis, warm barrel spice, vanilla and dark chocolate. In the glass there are concentrated flavors of cherry, cassis, blackberry, plum, spice, tobacco and chocolate.
[375ml] Elio Perrone Moscato Sourgal 2018
Well-balanced and fresh, with a floral overtone and citrusy acidity mixing with flavors of candied orange zest, baked peach, graham cracker and dried papaya. Drink now.
[D] Archer Roose Malbec [CAN]
Balanced acidity and dark ripe fruit, with notes of warm vanilla, blackberry
and plum - try it chilled!
[D] Bachs Groszer Rote Kuvee 2015
Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot make for a marriage of thrilling complexity. Brilliant minerality pairs itself with a luxuriant texture and an aromatic arc of plums, cherries and
[D] Barnett Spring Mtn Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
This beautiful Cabernet greets you immediately with a deep purple core. The nose is very lifted with sweet flowers, ripe raspberry, ground pepper and black licorice. Classic Spring Mountain minerality is also apparent, with wet stone and graphite in the background. The wine has a decent viscosity to it, with brighter black cherry fruit, vanilla bean and crushed flowers coming though on the pallet. The tannins are well integrated but youthful, and the natural Spring Mountain acidity is well balanced with the rest of the wine. This is one to hold, since the wine will come together nicely over the next 9-12 years
[D] Chateau Saint Pierre St Julien 2016
With the blossoms of a black raspberry bramble with a quick sift of white pepper, mocha and earth in the perfume, this wine is all about its elegant tannins, the finesse, freshness and purity of the sweet black and crisp, spicy red fruits. Produced from a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc.
[D] Cosimi Terra Rossa Oltre 2018
A tuscan red with deep purple fruit, moderate sugar content and an easy drinking nature.
[D] Fritz Saumon Chenin Blanc Mineral 2018
A blend of different terroirs to represent the vintage in Montlouis as a whole. Always fresh and vibrant, the last vintages have all been dry and weightless.
[D] Galerie Naissance Napa Sauvignon Blanc 2018
Wild vanilla and white peach intermingle in this substantial wine, entirely well-composed in round layers of tropical pineapple and juicy citrus. The oak is subtle and gives the finish a lift, accenting the vanilla.
[D] Gramercy Columbia Valley Syrah 2014
Gramercy Syrah 2014 showcases red cherry, blueberry, raspberry, leather, saline, meat, funk, violets, roses. Plenty of smoked herbs make it interesting. This is an energetic and vibrant Washington state syrah.
[D] La Cartuja Priorat 2016
Two things make this wine unique: the quality and the price. La Cartuja proudly proclaims the identity of the flavors of Priorat. The wine is made in an approachable style to be enjoyed young. It is neither alcoholic nor overly tannic. Made with estate-owned fruit, it is aged in French oak barrels for only 6 months.
[D] Lyrarakis Mandilari 2014
The rare low-yield Plakoura vineyard is a premier cru slope at 500m. Altitude, with sandy, stony soil. The head-trained pruning in combination with the north-east exposure of the vineyard and plenty of sunshine, ensures that the grapes reach optimum ripeness at the time of harvest. Very thorough cultivation helps us achieve extremely low yields, succeeding in vinificating a very concentrated wine with a deep red colour and an excellent structure, which will age for a long time.
[D] Massimo Rivetti Barbaresco Serraboella 2013
Scents of cocoa, ripe berry and a balsamic note come together on this. The jammy, straightforward palate offers dark cherry, raspberry, coffee and a hint of licorice alongside fine-grained tannins.
[D] Migot Cote du Toul Gamay Rose 2019
The soul of the wines in Migot’s Côtes de Toul has more to do with Chablis and Chitry than anything else. They are sharp; the fruit can be very detailed, but the layers are always fine and the overall sensation fresh. The minerality, the acidity of the region, has a texture, a saturating quality that is staining and pervasive. The specialty of the region is probably the “Vin Gris,” a waxy, deep and mouth-coating salmon-tinged rosé that, despite its depth, quivers with acidity.
[D] Pascal Jolivet Sancerre Rose 2018
A bright, ebullient rosé, with cherry and white raspberry fruit flavors that zip through the fresh, stony-edged finish.
